Abstract
The problems and the path of qualitative development of university education are discussed, based on the criterial base of culture, spirituality, higher mental activity. The necessity of taking into account the specific experience of national/Russian methodology is substantiated, on the basis of which a «sketch» of the university’s image for the future is proposed.
